I'm in the process of grading your essays. I'm taking my time with them to give you the best feedback possible. Please give me one more day to finish with them. I have put a check in power school if I have your essay. (Tomorrow I'll put a check for the hard copies).
Special Note about Cultural Extension Project Grades
After looking over the grade amounts, I decided to update them.
Here is the new breakdown:
Notes / Draft = 30 pts (10 pts per source)
Final Project = 20 pts
Presentation = 10 pts
In Class Reflection = 20 pts.
Essay Break Down:
Here is what we came up with for a basic outline in class. If you need extra help, complete a sentence outline and bring in: Tuesday 3:00-4:00, Wednesday after school, or Thursday after school.
Writing the claims:
Remember, when writing the claims, avoid the basic observation: Julia Alvarez uses personal experience to tell the story of the Mirabal sisters. Look at the prompt and what it asks, "How does Julia Alvarez use personal experience". Think back onto what we have discovered about Alvarez and ask yourself, what stands out to you. Turn this into your claim.
