It is the same for the teachers. When I got my schedule, 6 9th Grade Advanced English classes, I was so excited. I love the English curriculum and enjoyed it last year. The closer I got to the first day of school, the more my stomach became nervous. I started asking Who were my students going to be? Were they going to like me? How would the classes be? Would the students like the classroom? What have I forgotten? I had so many questions dancing through my brain last night that I didn't get to sleep until the wee hours in the morning.
Upon entering my room, I had wonderful students stop by and check in. I met many new students, saw many past students, and had an amazing day. I'm happy to learn that each class has a unique dynamic and vibe that makes it special. My first day thoughts are this: All three A-day classes are great and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and working with all of the students.
